Via Ottaviano <\/strong>
By metro A subway it is possible to reach via Ottaviano and follow it up to Piazza Risorgimento. Then you can continue directly towards Vatican Museums. Piazza San Pietro <\/strong>
On the tomb of St. Peter – he was martyred in 64 AD in the circus of Nero that once stood here – Constantine built a temple. The basilica, with five aisles, was completed in 349 AD and over a thousand years was a center of devotion. In 1506 Pope Julius II decided to build a new basilica. Then began a long phase of projects and achievements that were perpetuated for 120 years, under several popes, with the contribution of different artists: Michelangelo, Giacomo della Porta and Domenico Fontana. It was called the Fabbrica di San Pietro. The basilica was consecrated in 1626 by Pope Urban VIII. The plaza, designed by Bernini between 1656 and 1667, is surrounded by an imposing colonnade on which are found the statues of saints. Placing the left of the obelisk, at a stone circle on the pavement, looking at the columns, you can see the perfect alignment of the four rows of columns.

Castel Sant’Angelo <\/strong>
Going down through Via della Conciliazione – it was opened after the Lateran Treaty in 1930 – you can reach Castel Sant’Angelo National Museum.
