The male aspect. Using the ICSI method<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the main roles in successful fertilization lies on the sperm and its ability to reach the goal. The more the quantity, the better the mobility and quality of male cells – the higher the probability of obtaining successful result. Although, even under optimal conditions, there are situations when fertilization does not occur. In 12% of cases, the reasons for failure remain unknown. However, using the ICSI method can reduce the risk of failure by almost 6 times!<\/p>\n

The term ICSI (Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection) means “Sperm injection in the cytoplasm of the egg”. With the help of special micromanipulators, the embryologist makes a puncture in the egg and inserts a spermatozoon into it. Only one spermatozoon is used for fertilization, after it was carefully selected for the correct structure and high mobility. When applied, this method has proven its advantages: if the previously used in vitro method succeed in 65% of cases, ICSI increased this indicator to 99%.<\/p>\n

This method allowed to reduce the risks associated with the variability of spermatozoa. Diseases, usage of medications, any stressful situations on the eve of sampling of sperm can worsen its characteristics and reduce the chances of successful fertilization. And the ICSI method allows to take into account the characteristics of each patient’s body and obtain the maximum result.<\/p>\n

The female aspect. Body preparation and vitrification<\/strong><\/p>\n

For successful fertilization, it is important not only to obtain a qualitative embryo, but also to create optimal conditions for its development in the female body. The fact is that during the stimulation period, half of the women have unfavorable conditions for embryo implantation. Hormonal medications used to stimulate the maturation of eggs can negatively affect the condition of the inner endometrial mucosa, to which the embryo is attached. If the level of hormones after stimulation is too high, it is recommended to wait for embryo transfer until the next cycle. This is possible with cryopreservation of embryos by vitrification, which is also used for ovarian hyperstimulation. With the help of vitrification doctors can adjust to the cycle of the female body and transfer the embryo during the most favorable time for it.<\/p>\n

Vitrification is a method of freezing of embryos that guarantees a very high level of preservation of cells viability. The procedure is performed at the stage of 5-7 days of embryo maturation. During the most favorable period for implantation, it is thawed and transferred to the body of future mother. This significantly increases the effectiveness of pregnancy. Integrated IVF programs in ISIDA include cryopreservation of embryos, even when there is no need for embryo transfer for a later period. One of the obtained embryos is transferred, while others are vitrified for a possible pregnancy in the future.<\/p>\n

By minimizing the risk at the stages of fertilization of the egg and implantation of the embryo in the body of the future mother, the effectiveness of IVF increases significantly – the probability of pregnancy of women under 35 years from the first attempt is 60%!
