Il programma di Luminale 2012, Il Festival delle Luci di Francoforte curato da Helmut Bien, appuntamento collaterale della fiera di settore Light+Building, è quasi pronto. La presentazione ufficiale avverrà il prossimo marzo; nel frattempo la città si prepara ad ospitare uno degli eventi illuminotecnici più importanti a livello internazionale.
Mentre nel quartiere fieristico, professionisti e produttori si confronteranno sulle nuove tecnologie, le vie e le piazze della città saranno animati dalla creatività di artisti, designer e architetti.

I musei Städel, Deutsches Filmmueum e Deutsches Architekturmuseum illumineranno la città e, dal 15 al 20 aprile, verranno trasformati nei simboli del landmark cittadino. Uno dei luoghi più belli di Luminale sarà il giardino botanico Palmengarten dove lighting designers internazionali presenteranno le loro installazioni, anche sperimentali.

Ospiti di Luminale, designer internazionali anche da Londra, Amsterdam e Lione. Tra gli artisti, che verranno svelati il prossimo marzo, anche Francesco Corneli che presenterà una light installation al Archaeological Museum.

Le proiezioni e le installazioni animeranno strade, edifici, chiese, parchi: tutta la città sarà illuminata. E, ancora di più quest’anno, grazie alle nuove tecnologie le facciate dei palazzi e degli edifici, prenderanno vita e molte saranno le installazioni interattive. Toccherà ad esempio al Museo di Storia Naturale o alla Zeligalerie, il district dedicato al Lifestyle.

Lo spazio urbano si trasformerà in uno spazio narrativo: gli edifici dialogheranno tra loro e il pubblico assisterà a storie di fantasia, dove la luce sarà il filo conduttore.

La città di Francoforte è una delle più innovative per quanto riguarda i progetti di architettura sostenibile: l’efficienza energetica e la progettazione illuminotecnica saranno il focus di Luminale 2012.
Protagoniste del Festival, anche le città di Offenbach, Darmstadt, Magozna e Wiesbaden. Luoghi simbolo che sarà possibile raggiungere grazie a un servizio di navetta.

The calendar for Luminale 2012, the Festival of Lights in Frankfurt curated by Helmut Bien, a Light+Building side event, is almost here. The official inauguration will be held in March; in the meantime the city is getting ready to host one of the most important lighting events in the world.

While the main trade show will be dedicated to professionals and manufacturers who will discuss about new technologies, the city’s streets and squares will be animated by the creativity of artists, designers and architects.

The museums of Städel, Deutsches Filmmueum and Deutsches Architekturmuseum will light up the city and, from April 15 to 20, they will be transformed into city landmarks. One of the most beautiful places of the Luminale event will be the botanic garden of Palmengarten where international lighting designers will present their installations and experimentations.

Luminale guests include world-famous designers from London, Amsterdam and Lyon. Some of the artists that will be exhibiting in March also include Francesco Corneli who will present a light installation at the Archaeological Museum.

Video projections and installations will animate streets, buildings, churches and parks: the entire city will be filled with lights. And, once again, thanks to the use of new technologies, buildings’ façades will come to life with many interactive installations. Don’t miss, for example, the Museum of Natural History or the Zeligalerie, the district dedicated to Lifestyle.

The urban setting will be turned into a narrative space: buildings will have a dialogue with each other and the audience will enjoy fantastic stories, where the leading role is played by light.

The city of Frankfurt is one of the most innovative cities in the world for its sustainable architecture: energy-efficiency and lighting design will be the focus of Luminale 2012.
The protagonists of the Festival will also include the cities of Offenbach, Darmstadt, Mainz and Wiesbaden: symbol places that can be reached with a free bus service.
