Inaugurata il 4 Giugno, presso le sale della Galleria Comunale d’Arte Contemporanea al Montirone, è la mostra dedicata all’artista Paolo Radi intitolata “OLTRE LA PITTURA: PRESENZA TRA MATERIA E LUCE“. Mostra monografica, in cui si presenta un’esaustiva selezione di opere che ripercorrono la fase più recente della sua ricerca analizzandone gli esiti tra gli anni 2003 e 2011. Radi ha affermato il suo talento e le sue qualità artistiche nel panorama della nuova generazione, diventandone un protagonista di assoluto rilevo. Così come la sua identità artistica si è affermata, nel corso del tempo, attraverso una poetica in cui le sostanze restituiscono presenze ed effetti che superano la loro stessa natura. Osservando le sue opere si è catturati dagli effetti cromatici che compone: equilibri e trasparenze, sospensioni e dilatazioni, in cui aggiunge evanescenti sfumature lucenti e opache di un colore che lega la materia, essere concreto, con l’effimero della luce. Infatti sono proprio luce e materia gli elementi su cui Paolo Radi si basa per progettare e plasmare i suoi lavori, senza mai cedere all’enfasi del decoro. Le opere di Radi paiono dipinti, ma si mostrano in realtà come catalizzatori tridimensionali. La luce che irradia i suoi quadri si ribella alla semplice superficie bidimensionale, cercando di smarcarsi. Così le forme del “quadro” si gonfiano, si animano sotto la propria pelle per le spinte di pulviscoli risplendenti, dietro piccole aurore boreali di colori luminosi.

Just opened on 4th June is the exhibition dedicated to Paolo Radi called “OLTRE LA PITTURA: PRESENZA TRA MATERIA E LUCE” on show at the Municipal Gallery of Contemporary Art at Montirone.
A monographic exhibition that presents an exhaustive selection of works that run through the most recent phases of his work, analyzing his production from 2003 to 2011.
Radi consolidated his talent and artistic qualities on the scene of new-generation artists, soon becoming one of its key representatives.

Just like his artistic identity has affirmed, over time, through a poetic where substance brings back presences and effects that overcome their very nature.

In observing his work, we are captured by the colour effects that he can create: balances and transparencies, suspensions and expansions, complemented by shining and opaque evanescent shades of colour that combine the tangible nature of matter with the ephemeral qualities of light.

In fact, light and matter are the elements on which Paolo Radi bases his work to plan and to shape works, without ever surrendering to the emphasis of décor.
Radi’s works look like paintings, but they are, in fact, three dimensional catalysts.
Light that shines on his paintings rebels to the mere two-dimensional surface, trying to free itself. So the forms of the “painting” are inflated, animated over the skin toward the push of glowing atmospheric dust, behind little aurora borealis of luminous colours.
