La terza edizione di “The Light of Jerusalem Festival” si svolgerà dal 15 al 22 giugno nei viali della città vecchia di Gerusalemme. La kermesse accenderà di luce nuova i suoi vicoli storici, promuovendo la città come un luogo multisfaccettato dalla piacevole e “incantata” vita notturna: accanto alle migliori opere illuminotecniche, decine di spettacoli, visite, artisti ed altro ancora.
Quest’anno inoltre, fanno il loro esordio al festival dieci artisti internazionali, tra i quali vogliamo ricordare l’italiano Richi Ferrero che presenterà le sue celeberrime “Bwind Light Masks”.

Già nelle passate edizioni, artisti provenienti da Israele e dall’estero hanno contribuito ad accrescere la notorietà dell’evento – portando 250.000 visitatori per l’ultima edizione -, creando così una nuova tendenza per la vita notturna di Gerusalemme. Oggi il festival è dedicato a tutti i cittadini e ai suoi ospiti, un momento per condividere ed esaltare tutte le opere d’arte e i musei della città.
Gli sforzi di artisti innovativi, la progressione costante delle tecnologie e il cambiamento nella percezione del ruolo della luce nel paesaggio urbano, hanno portato allo sviluppo di festival che si occupano di illuminazione decorativa e la ricerca dell’influenza della luce sullo spazio urbano in tutto il mondo.
La Festa della Luce nella Città Vecchia si pone l’obiettivo di fornire attraverso l’uso della luce, una dimensione drammatica e artistica alle notti della Città Vecchia.

The third edition of “The Jerusalem Festival of Lights” will take place from 15 to 22 June along the streets of the Old City of Jerusalem. The festival will shed new light on the historic alleys, promoting the city as a multi-faceted place with a pleasant and “enchanted” night life: along with the best lighting installations, there will be dozens of art exhibitions, package tours, performances and much more.
Furthermore, this year, the festival will present, for the first time ever, ten international artists, including the Italian Richi Ferrero who will present his famous “Bwind Light Masks”.

Like in previous editions, artists from Israel and the rest of the world will contribute in enhancing the popularity of the event – that attracted 250,000 visitors in the past edition – thereby creating a new trend for Jerusalem’s night life. Today the festival is dedicated to both citizen and tourists, and is a way to share and highlight the city’s artworks and museums.
The efforts of innovative artists, the steady technologic advances and the shift in the perception of the role of light in the urban landscape, have been the foundations of this festival that will deal with decorative lighting and the study of the impact of light on urban spaces around the world.
The Festival of Lights in the Old City has the objective to offer a dramatic and artistic dimension to the night life of the Old City through the use of light.
