Torna Artissima, l’osservatorio privilegiato sulla migliore ricerca nel campo delle arti visive. L’edizione 2011 si svolgerà dal 4 al 6 novembre 2011 negli spazi dell’Oval – Lingotto Fiere a Torino.

Molte delle novità che avevano contraddistinto la scorsa edizione diventano quest’anno veri e propri punti di forza, mentre è ancora più sentita la vocazione sperimentale.

Artissima 18 ospiterà 161 gallerie (58 italiane e 103 straniere) suddivise in quattro sezioni: Main section, New Entries, Present Future e Back to the Future. Approssimazioni Razionali e Artissima LIDO sono invece i progetti speciali curati da artisti italiani e risultato di un percorso di ricerca sullo scenario futuro dei musei.

Nascono nuovi spazi sperimentali da condividere. I canoni classici del museo contemporaneo – la collezione permanente, la mostra temporanea, la biblioteca, la sala cinema e conferenze, il dipartimento educativo, l’archivio – devono essere ripensati. E proprio la luce ha un ruolo importante nella riprogettazione degli spazi museali perché contribuisce a creare scenari unici.

Grazie alla luce l’attuale sede di Artissima, l’Oval il padiglione dall’originale taglio architettonico, è stato trasformato in una location unica in occasione dei Giochi Olimpici Invernali di Torino 2006. Con i suoi 20.000 mq illuminati naturalmente, si è mostrato un luogo di grande efficacia per ospitare la manifestazione.

Artissima, the privileged observatory on the best research studies in the field of visual arts is back. The 2011 edition will take place from 4 to 6 November 2011 at the Oval-Lingotto exhibition centre in Turin.

Many of the innovations that marked last year’s edition are now the event’s highlights, while its experimental vocation is even more clearly affirmed.

Artissima 18 will host 161 galleries (58 by Italian brands and 103 by foreign exhibitors) divided into four sections: ‘Main section’, ‘New Entries’, ‘Present Future’ and ‘Back to the Future’. ‘Approssimazioni Razionali’ and ‘Artissima LIDO‘, instead, are special projects presented by Italian artists as the result of research projects on the future of museums.

New experimental spaces are born. The classical standards of contemporary museums – permanent collections, temporary exhibitions, a library, a video room, a conference hall, an educational section and the archive – are completely rethought. And it is precisely light that plays the important role of re-designing museum spaces, because it is one of the key factors that can create unique settings.

In fact, it was thanks to light that Artissima’s current venue, the Oval, the pavilion with an outstanding architecture, could be transformed into a unique space during the Winter Olympics 2006 in Turin. With over 20,000 m2 of naturally illuminated space, it proved to be the ideal place to host the event thanks to its impressive visual impact.
