Lasciare Traccia: storie di biodiversità. E’ questo il tema della terza edizione del concorso che mette in palio 9 posti gratuiti per accedere a una Summer School nel periodo giugno-luglio 2011, per un totale di 3 settimane. Il concorso è organizzato dal Parco Tecnologico Padano, l’Ufficio Scolastico Regionale, l’Università di Milano e la Provincia di Lodi, ed è giunto alla sua terza edizione. Inoltre quest’anno oltrepassa i confini della provincia di Lodi. L’edizione 2011 vede infatti la collaborazione dell’Associazione Waterfront.org, che mette a disposizione dei vincitori del concorso la possibilità di vivere un’esperienza di una settimana presso la Grande Cariçaie, la più grande riserva naturale d’acqua dolce della Svizzera. I ragazzi studieranno la biodiversità dell’ambiente nella settimana dal 22 al 29 agosto 2011.
Il concorso è rivolto agli studenti di quarta e quinta superiore e l’iscrizione deve essere effettuata entro il 25 aprile. Ai candidati sarà chiesto di scegliere una specie (appartenente a qualunque regno) e di sviluppare una scheda dedicata all’interno del portale Biodiversipedia, con termine ultimo domenica 8 maggio.
La scheda, che dovrà seguire le regole di impaginazione grafica di Biodiversipedia, dovrà essere frutto di un lavoro individuale di ricerca. Costituirà valore aggiunto la presenza nella scheda di immagini, aneddoti, curiosità, notizie originali riguardanti la specie, provenienti anche da studi scientifici.
La Summer School, della durata complessiva di 3 settimane, prevederà una settimana di training nella quale verranno svolti esperimenti biotecnologici di base; nelle due settimane successive ogni studente verrà affiancato a un gruppo dove collaborerà a sviluppare le linee di ricerca attive.
Per quanto riguarda la settimana in Svizzera, l’Associazione Waterfront.org coprirà anche le spese di vitto e alloggio.

Stories of biodiversity is the theme of the third edition of the competition that is giving away 9 free seats to access a Summer School in June-July 2011, for a total of three weeks. The competition is organized by the Parco Tecnologico Padano, the Regional Education Office, the University of Milan and the Province of Lodi, and is now in its third edition. And this year the competition goes beyond the borders of the province of Lodi. The 2011 edition, in fact, sees the collaboration of Waterfront.org, which provides to successful candidates the opportunity to experience a week in the largest natural fresh water reserve in Switzerland. The students will study the biodiversity of the area in the week from 22nd to 29th August 2011.
The competition is open to students of high schools (the two last classes) and enrollment must be made before April 25th. Candidates will be asked to choose a species (belonging to any kingdom) and to develop a dedicated tab within the portal Biodiversipedia, ending Sunday, May 8th.
The board, which must follow the rules of graphic layout of Biodiversipedia, must be the result of an individual research. Will provide added value to occur in the form of images, anecdotes, trivia, news about the original species, also from scientific studies.
The Summer School, a course of three weeks, will provide a week of training in which experiments of basic biotechnology will be performed; in the next two weeks, each student will be joined in a group where they will work to develop active research lines.
