Il cambiamento climatico è realtà e riguarda tutti: è ora di lasciare da parte le scuse e passare all’azione. E’ questo il leitmotiv dell’importante iniziativa “Piantala con le scuse! Pianta un albero!” creata dall’organizzazione no-profit Rete clima. L’obiettivo è quello di sensibilizzare e responsabilizzare tutti i cittadini sulla problematica del cambiamento climatico, invitandoli all’azione e lasciando da parte le scuse che spesso si è portati a trovare. Ognuno infatti può dare il proprio contributo a migliorare l’ambiente in cui viviamo, agendo in prima persona con scelte quotidiane sostenibili e magari anche piantando un albero per contrastare le emissioni prodotte durante la propria vita. Piccoli gesti, insomma, che se compiuti tutti assieme possono portare a grandi risultati.
“Piantala con le scuse! Pianta un albero!” si rivolge ai singoli cittadini quindi, ma anche a tutti gli enti e le imprese che vogliono agire in positivo nei confronti dell’ambiente con un’azione semplice ed efficace: l’adozione di un albero. Con soli 20 euro è possibile infatti adottare un albero che sarà piantato in boschi protetti nazionali realizzati per la tutela della naturalità locale e il contrasto al cambiamento climatico, validati quali carbon sink conformi agli standard del Protocollo di Kyoto da parte di Rina, soggetto accreditato presso l’UNFCCC (United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change). Tale somma comprende anche le spese per la messa in posa, manutenzione e cura per almeno venti anni. Questi alberi durante la loro crescita andranno ad assorbire CO2 intrappolandola nelle molecole del legno ed evitando che resti quindi libera in atmosfera. Grazie all’adozione di un solo albero sarà possibile assorbire circa 500 kg di CO2, che equivale all’emissione (di CO2) di circa 20 giorni di un cittadino italiano medio.
