Breton MATRIX – High speed vertical machining centre, with 5 axes, for milling of medium and big size parts of Steel, Aluminium, Composites and Resins

High-Speed Milling Machines with High Dynamics
Facilitate Machining of Large, Complex Workpieces

MATRIX 800 – 1000 – 1300 – High speed vertical machining centre
with 5 continuous axes,
for milling medium size and
large parts made of steel, aluminium, composite and resin

Fast, flexible,
and compact, the new Matrix series of dual-drive gantry-type 3- and 5-axis
machining centres
designed for high-speed milling offers dynamics of up to
40 m/min and acceleration as great as 3 m/sec² for aerospace,
automotive, and tool and mould making applications. Breton S.p.A. has
given the machines an architecture that optimizes use of the wide working area,
giving the operator maximum flexibility of action while still respecting CE
regulations.

Even very large
workpieces can be positioned and machined with agility, high reliability, and
safety.

Three models are
available. The Matrix 1300 features a working volume of 3,900 mm in the
x-axis, 2,000, 3,000, 4,500, 6,000, or 8,000 mm in the y-axis, and 1,300 in the z-axis.
Workspace dimensions for the Matrix 1000 are 2,500 mm in x, the same
options as with the previous model in y, and 1,000 mm in z. The Matrix 800
offers a volume of 2,000 mm in the x-axis, 1,600 or 2,500 mm in the
y-dimension, and 800 mm
in z.

The machines are
structurally stiff, having been constructed entirely from electrowelded
normalized steel and fitted with a camber and ribbing for extra strength, and
are dimensioned to offer stability and precision along with rapid acceleration.
As a result, the best possible performance is ensured even when the work is
subjected to heavy stress.

Birotary heads,
all featuring continuous rotation in the c-axis and with an a-axis that is
capable of working in undercut, make it possible for the Matrix machines to
carry out highly complex operations by means of 5 axes working simultaneously
in three dimensions. The powerful DD birotary head provides a faster rotary
speed of 100 rpm on the Matrix 1000 and Matrix 1300.

High-performance
spindles, which provide up to 40 kW and 100 Nm of torque in the 5-axis machines
and 220 Nm of torque in the 3-axis versions with a rotational speed to 40,000
rpm, support uninterrupted high-speed roughing and finishing.

Numerous
accessories allow users to configure the Matrix according to specific
requirements.
