Al via la 16° edizione di Milano Film Festival, che animerà la città dal 9 fino al 18 settembre. Il cuore dell’evento sarà il Teatro Strehler di Milano, mentre i tanti appuntamenti collaterali trasformeranno altri luoghi come il Parco Sempione e l’Acquario Civico.
Cinema di qualità e attenzione alle nuove produzioni e al cinema indipendente è la ricetta di quest’anno che ha l’obiettivo di rendere il Festival ancora più aperto e accessibile a un pubblico sempre più ampio e diversificato.
Concorsi internazionali, con i lungometraggi e i cortometraggi in gara, le Retrospettiva e gli Omaggi, con le proiezioni dedicate al regista Jonathan Demme e al music supervisor culto del cinema americano Randall Post, gli Outsideras, rassegna dedicata ai fuoriclasse, le speciali Materiali del presente, dedicata ai documentari, e Focus, incentrata sui film d’animazione, sono le diverse e ricche sezioni in programma.
La 16esima edizione del Milano Film Festival è dedicata a Jonathan Demme, figura chiave del cinema americano dagli anni Settanta a oggi. In programma tutti i suoi lungometraggi, i documentari, le regie per la televisione i videoclip e i film prodotti dalla sua casa di produzione Clinica Estetico. Jonathan Demme sarà ospite del Festival e incontrerà il pubblico per una lezione di cinema

The 16th edition of the Milano Film Festival that will animate the city finally takes off on 9 September and will run through 18 September. The core of the event will take place at the Strehler Theatre, alongside the other events at the Sempione Park and Milan’s Aquarium.
Quality cinema and attention to new productions and independent movies is the focus of this year’s edition, which is set to make the Festival even more open and accessible to an increasingly broader and diverse public.
The rich and varied calendar of events include international competitions, with competing feature films e short films, Retrospectives and Tributes, with movies dedicated to the director Jonathan Demme and the cult music supervisor of American movie-making Randall Post, the Outsiders, an exhibition dedicated to world-beaters, Present Materials, a special event dedicated to documentaries and Focus with new animated movies.
The 16th edition of the Milano Film Festival is dedicated to Jonathan Demme, a key figure in American movie from the seventies to present. The program includes all of his movies, documentaries, TV films and videos as well as the films produced by his production company Clinica Estetico. Jonathan Demme will be the Festival’s special guest and will meet the audience for a lecture on movie-making.
