STAY&PLAY Castelfalfi Resort in Tuscany with 27 hole facility

Home STAY&PLAY Castelfalfi Resort in Tuscany with 27 hole facility In the last few months an 18-hole and a 9-hole golf course and surrounding grounds have been laid out in the heart of Tuscany between Pisa and Florence. The golf courses are set in the 1,100 hectar grounds of the Castelfalfi Estate, consisting of a Borgo with Castello, vineyard and olive grove. The course, which was over 20 years old and was originally designed by Mancinelli, needed to be remodelled.

By moving the location of the clubhouse to the centre of the two golf courses with spectacular views of the Castello, the way was clear for a complete redesign. Whilst retaining the most beautiful aspects of the landscape, the existing course was redesigned and brought up to modern standards. By doing so, blind holes and holes which sloped too steeply were eliminated and new fairways were developed and in part integrated into both courses. From the future terrace of the clubhouse you have a fascinating view across the lake area where the last green of each course is set. Once home to the renowned philologist Zingarelli, careful restorations have brought its former splendour to the Villa and have made possible the rise of this structure with only 8 rooms skilfully created as true works of art thanks to the talent of a highly rated painter, Giulio Greco who, giving free rein to his imagination, has been able to create highly original personalised interiors within each of them. The Park
As in a mosaic, pines, lindens, laurels, lemon-trees, rose bushes, create a suggestive and characteristic Italian garden that encloses the panoramic Court and the pool with its children area and whirlpool for complete relaxation and wellbeing. The History
Formerly a nineteenth century residence, it was renovated in 2002 utilising traditional and natural materials such as marble, wood, Florentine terracotta tiles and Serena stone; together with the major decorations and ambiences that create an unmistakable simple and refined style, the Villa offers all mod cons and a magnificent opportunity to all who seek hospitality, comfort, and elegance.
