Where to eat Pizza in Rome

Pizza in Rome
Rome traditional Pizza is really different from the rest of Italy. It is served very thin and crispy. Of course in Rome  it is easy to find out also Pizzerias more linked to Naples traditions, but we warmly recommend to taste the roman one!
Pizzerias are located in every alley of Rome. A tourist selecting an hotel or an apartment in Rome should not worry about the chance to certainly have a pizzeria (take away or restaurant) at walking distance from the accommodation.
To choice a Pizzeria in Rome can be indeed a very good and cheap solution to take a break during a walk or to stop in the evening. The budget for a single pizza goes from EUR 5,00 to EUR 10,00 in a reastaurant for a total check (including also a beer and an appetizer) of no more than 15-18 EUR. While also less expensive is the take away option; in this case  most of the times you can not seat but it is possible to taste different kind of Pizzas.
Pizza Take Away Recommendations
There are several places offering pizza Take Away (Pizza al Taglio), especially in the main central district and along walking itineraries. Traditional Take Away Pizeerias are usually small shops with only a few stools. Most of the times you can choose the quantity of Pizza you wish for each kind of Pizza: fee is based on the type of pizza and of course on the weight. Unless we are talking about a very tourist place it barely happens to meet a take away selling single slices of Pizza.
Recommended Pizzerias – Restaurants
POPI POPI – Via delle fratte di Trastevere, 45 – 00153
Popi Popi Pizzeria is located next to Piazza S. Callisto. Space outside is small, but inside there are many tables and huge ventilators for the hottest periods.  Pizza is cooked in a burning oven and served crispy and thin following the typical tradition of Rome
DAR POETA – Vicolo del Bologna, 45 00153 Roma
Dar Poeta is a very well known Pizzeria located at Rome Trastevere. Room is surely less than POPI POPI also outside and the minimum waiting time also during the week is 30 minutes. Respect to Popi Popi they have a large variety of Bruschettas to start the dinner.
Da Baffetto – Via del Governo Vecchio 114

This small and always crowded Pizzeria is located just behind Piazza Navona square. Notwithstanding the place can seem quite touristy, Pizza is anyway very good and cooked in the “roman way”
